SDUSD 2015 State of the District:
We went to this year’s SDUSD State of the District address last night (10/20/15) at Lincoln High School. Once again I am impressed with our current leadership and the direction they are moving this big ship (San Diego Unified is the second largest district in California, and eighth in the nation). Here are a couple video clips from the event. One is of Superintendent Cindy Marten, where she shares the importance of communication skills for our students, and the other is of Board President Marne Foster, where she tells us how “We have to reach our students before we teach them!”
San Diego Unified and other districts across the nation continue to prepare students to compete in the global marketplace as they teach students to think critically, learn independently and communicate better in order to meet the new guidelines outlined in the Common Core State Standards.
